How Many Funded Accounts Can You Have? Up to 5
Evaluations have no cap. Funded accounts do, and the number depends on the feed and the account family.
At Phoenix Trader Funding you can run as many evaluations as you like at once, and the Pre-Funded cap is set per feed: 5 on TFeed, 3 on dxFeed. Each account family has its own sub-limit inside each feed's cap, and Live Funded accounts have a theoretical maximum of 5. Merit is the exception: it is one attempt for the life of the account.

A prop firm's account limit is rarely one number. At Phoenix Trader Funding it changes at each stage of the path: evaluation, Pre-Funded, then Live Funded. This guide takes them in order, so you can see what your own plan allows before you buy a single account.
Evaluations: No Cap on How Many You Run
An evaluation is the challenge you pass to earn a funded account. On Classic, Daily and Spark there is no limit on how many you can have open at the same time, in one family or across all three. Run two Classic accounts and a Spark side by side if that is how you want to test your approach.
The cost is per account, so that is where a plan really gets sized. Classic bills monthly and can be cancelled any time. Spark, Daily and Merit are paid once. A Spark also carries a $29 activation fee, due when you pass, which Classic, Daily and Merit do not charge.
A failed Classic, Daily or Spark evaluation can be reset for a fee tied to the account's size. Merit allows no reset at any price.
Pre-Funded: Where the Caps Begin
Pre-Funded is the simulated funded stage you enter after passing a Classic, Daily or Spark evaluation. The balance is simulated, the payouts are real, and this is the first stage with an account limit. The limit depends on the data feed the account trades on.
| Feed | Pre-Funded accounts | Families that trade on it |
|---|---|---|
| TFeed | 5 | Classic, Daily, Spark |
| dxFeed | 3 | Classic |
TFeed is Phoenix's own execution feed, and dxFeed includes Level 1 market data. Spark and Daily exist only on TFeed, so a plan built on either one lives under the TFeed cap of 5. Classic is the one family that lets you choose between the two feeds.
The feed also sets what each account costs to trade. ES commission is $1.09 a side on TFeed against $2.18 on dxFeed. TFeed includes no market data, so it needs a separate leader account that has data, and Thor copies executions in from it.
Sub-Limits for Each Account Family
Inside the feed total, each family has its own ceiling. A plan that leans on one family stops sooner than the total suggests.
Spark, Daily and Classic Growth or Scale are limited to 3 Pre-Funded accounts each. Classic Starter allows 5.
The total is the outer limit. Three Spark and three Daily accounts would make six, which is more than the 5 that TFeed allows. Three Spark and two Classic Starter accounts fill the 5 without breaking either sub-limit.
Live Funded: The Next Stage Has a Ceiling Too
Live Funded is the stage after Pre-Funded: real capital, traded through EdgeClear on Rithmic instead of a simulated balance. The theoretical maximum is 5 Live accounts, and each family reaches Live by its own trigger.
- Classic and Spark: four payouts, plus a risk approval
- Daily: a lifetime amount paid, $1,200 on a Seed, $3,000 on a Starter and $6,000 on a Growth account
- Merit: live funding straight from its assessment, on approval
For planning, the Pre-Funded cap is the number that matters first. Every Classic, Daily and Spark account has to pass through that stage before it can reach Live, and when one account transfers to Live, your other funded accounts go dormant.
Merit Is a Single Attempt, Not a Stack
Merit is a 30 calendar day assessment with no profit goal. The Phoenix risk team and an AI review every trade, and a person then decides on live funding. Approval is a decision, so funding is never a given whatever the P&L.
Merit skips the Pre-Funded stage, and an accepted trader goes straight to a live funded account of $2,000. That is why the Pre-Funded limits above do not describe it. What shapes Merit is the single attempt. The first Merit purchase deactivates every other Merit account you hold, and buying another later means holding a different Phoenix account type first.
What Changes When You Hold Several Accounts
Holding more accounts does not change how you are allowed to trade them. News trading including Tier 1 releases like FOMC, CPI and NFP, scalping with no minimum trade duration, and copy trading between your own accounts are allowed on every account type.
Thor is Phoenix's own trade copier, and it is the tool the firm recommends for repeating one set of entries across your accounts.
One limit follows you across accounts. Cross-account hedging, meaning opposite positions on two of your own accounts so that one wins whichever way the market moves, is prohibited on evaluation and Pre-Funded accounts.
Payouts also run on different cycles, which matters once you hold a mix. Each family keeps its own schedule.
| Account | Payout cycle |
|---|---|
| Classic | Weekly |
| Daily | Every trading day |
| Spark | Bi-weekly |
| Merit | On the Live account only |
Daily is the one family with a combined ceiling. Across every Daily account you hold, one trader can be paid $1,000 a trading day at most. A Daily Growth account can be paid up to $1,000 on its own, so holding three of them does not pay $3,000 in a day.
Sizing Your Plan Around the Caps
Which limit shapes your plan depends on how many accounts you actually mean to run.
- One or two accounts: the caps never come up, so pick the family on its rules and let the cap be a number you will not reach
- Three to five accounts on TFeed: mind the sub-limits, since Spark, Daily and Classic Growth or Scale stop at 3 each while Classic Starter reaches 5
- Three accounts on dxFeed: that is the whole Pre-Funded allowance on that feed, and it is Classic only
- Live funding on approval, with no profit goal to chase: Merit, one attempt for the life of the account
Each family's own page carries its full rule set, and the evaluations page lists every size on sale.
How many funded accounts can I have at Phoenix Trader Funding?
The Pre-Funded cap is set per feed: 5 on TFeed, 3 on dxFeed, with a sub-limit for each account family inside each feed's cap. Evaluations have no cap, and Live Funded accounts have a theoretical maximum of 5.
Is there a limit on how many evaluations I can run at once?
Not on Classic, Daily or Spark: you can run as many of those evaluations at the same time as you want, and the caps only start once accounts reach the Pre-Funded stage. Merit is the exception: it is one attempt for the life of the account.
Can I copy trades across my own accounts?
Yes. Copy trading between your own accounts is allowed on every account type, and Thor is Phoenix's own copier. The thing to keep out of it is cross-account hedging, which is prohibited on evaluation and Pre-Funded accounts.
Do the Pre-Funded limits apply to Merit?
Merit has no Pre-Funded stage, so those limits are not what shapes it. What shapes it is the single attempt: one for the life of the account, with no reset at any price.
Spark and Daily trade on TFeed only, so a plan built on either one is always measured against the TFeed cap of 5 and its own sub-limit of 3.
How many Live Funded accounts can I have?
The theoretical maximum is 5. When one account transfers to Live, your other funded accounts go dormant. Classic and Spark reach Live after four payouts plus a risk approval, Daily by a lifetime amount paid, and Merit on approval of its assessment.
Can I be paid on every Daily account in a single day?
Up to a combined $1,000 per trader per day across all your Daily accounts. The per-account caps of $200, $500 and $1,000 a trading day still apply, but they never stack past that figure.
