How Many Payouts to Reach Live? 4 on Classic and Spark

Classic and Spark open Live after four payouts and a risk approval. Daily counts the total paid out instead, and Merit goes Live on approval after a 30 day assessment.

Classic and Spark accounts at Phoenix Trader Funding reach Live after 4 payouts, plus a risk approval. Daily has no payout count: it opens Live on the total amount paid out, $1,200 on Seed, $3,000 on Starter and $6,000 on Growth. Merit has no Pre-Funded stage and goes Live on approval after its 30 calendar day assessment.

A funded account does not start Live. Classic, Daily and Spark accounts pass an evaluation, trade a simulated funded stage first, and reach Live from there.

Four steps from evaluation to a Live account: pass the evaluation, trade Pre-Funded, reach 4 payouts on Classic and Spark plus a risk approval, then go Live on EdgeClear through Rithmic.
Payouts are the counter on the way up. Classic and Spark move from Pre-Funded to Live on four payouts plus a risk approval. Daily and Merit take their own routes, set out below.

What Live Means

Live is the stage where an account trades at a broker rather than in simulation. At Phoenix Trader Funding that broker is EdgeClear, on Rithmic. The stage before it is Pre-Funded: the simulated funded stage a Classic, Daily or Spark account enters after passing its evaluation, and the stage where its payouts are made.

Four Routes to Live in One Table

Each account family has its own trigger, and only two of the four use a payout count.

AccountWhat opens LivePayout cycle
Classic4 payouts and a risk approvalWeekly
Spark4 payouts and a risk approvalBi-weekly
DailyTotal paid out: $1,200 Seed, $3,000 Starter, $6,000 GrowthEvery trading day

Classic and Spark: 4 Payouts and a Risk Approval

On Classic and Spark the trigger is a count. An account reaches Live after four payouts together with a risk approval, so the fourth payout is the minimum for the move and not a promise of it.

Classic pays weekly, so the fourth payout cannot come before the fourth weekly cycle. Spark pays bi-weekly, so not before the fourth bi-weekly cycle. The risk approval comes after that.

The counted days and minimums that each payout has to meet are set out in how payouts work on a funded account, which covers Classic, Spark and Daily in turn.

Daily: Total Paid Out, Not a Payout Count

Daily has no payout count. It opens Live on the total amount paid out over the account's life: $1,200 on Daily Seed, $3,000 on Daily Starter and $6,000 on Daily Growth.

Rule card for Daily Live: Daily Seed opens Live at $1,200 paid with a $200 a day cap, Daily Starter at $3,000 paid with a $500 a day cap, and Daily Growth at $6,000 paid with a $1,000 a day cap.
The cap puts a floor under the count. At $200, $500 and $1,000 a day, each total takes six payouts at the fewest.

Daily pays every trading day, with a per-day payout cap of $200 on Seed, $500 on Starter and $1,000 on Growth. The per-day cap sets a floor: $1,200 at $200 a day, $3,000 at $500 and $6,000 at $1,000 all come to six payouts at the fewest.

Across every Daily account you hold, one trader can be paid $1,000 a trading day at most.

Merit: Live on Approval After 30 Days

Merit has no payout route to follow. It is a 30 calendar day assessment: you trade your own way, the Phoenix risk team and an AI review every trade on the account, and then a person decides on Live funding. There is no profit goal to hit.

Among the criteria Phoenix publishes, the review weighs how much of the total profit came from a single day and how the average winning day compares with the average losing day. Doing well on them raises the odds of funding and guarantees nothing.

Merit has no Pre-Funded stage, so an accepted trader goes straight to a Live account of $2,000. The result is never automatic: funding can be declined after a large profit and offered after a small one, because the review looks at how you trade rather than how much you made. Merit allows one attempt for the life of the account, with no reset.

What a Live Account Starts With

A Live account does not start at the size of the evaluation behind it. A $25K Spark Starter goes Live at $1,000, and a $100K Classic Scale goes Live at $3,500.

AccountLive amount, by size
ClassicStarter $1,250, Growth $2,000, Scale $3,500
DailySeed $500, Starter $1,250, Growth $2,000
SparkSeed $400, Starter $1,000
Merit$2,000

What Changes Once You Are Live

Drawdown is the loss limit on an account: how far the balance can fall before the account breaches. On Live it is static on every account line. Live also carries a daily drawdown limit that is scalable and set with the trader.

Rule card for a Live account: EdgeClear on Rithmic, static drawdown, a scalable daily drawdown set with the trader, one extra mini per $2,000 of Live profit, a CME data fee of $135 a month per exchange, and at most 5 Live accounts in theory.
Six things that define the Live stage. Merit's Live account differs on the daily drawdown, as the next paragraph explains.

Merit's Live account has no daily drawdown, so row 3 of that card does not apply to it. Withdrawals on it start at $1, with no maximum.

Live scaling adds one mini for every $2,000 of additional Live profit. The CME Professional data fee, the exchange's charge for professional market data, applies on Live and is deducted from the account.

When one account transfers to Live, your other funded accounts go dormant. The theoretical maximum is 5 Live accounts.

Questions About Reaching Live

How many payouts do I need before an account goes Live?

Classic and Spark accounts reach Live after four payouts, plus a risk approval. Daily has no payout count and opens Live on the total paid out: $1,200 on Seed, $3,000 on Starter and $6,000 on Growth. Merit goes Live on approval after its 30 calendar day assessment.

How many payouts does Daily take to reach Live?

Daily has no payout count: Live opens on the total paid out. The cap still sets a floor, though. Seed pays at most $200 a day against a $1,200 total, Starter $500 against $3,000 and Growth $1,000 against $6,000, so each size takes six payouts at the fewest, and more when the payouts are smaller.

+1 miniFor every $2,000 of additional Live profit

Does Merit go through Pre-Funded before Live?

No. Merit skips the simulated funded stage altogether. When the assessment ends in approval, the first funded account a trader gets is a Live one at $2,000, and Merit pays out from that account.

Can I have more than one Live account?

In theory, up to 5. The limit you meet first is the transfer itself: once one funded account moves to Live, your other funded accounts go dormant.

Each Pre-Funded payout request clears through an automated approval system, usually in milliseconds, and is then sent within 24 hours of approval.

Which platforms can I use on a Live account?

Live runs on EdgeClear through Rithmic, so it supports Rithmic platforms such as Sierra Chart, MultiCharts, Jigsaw, Bookmap and MotiveWave.

  • Classic or Spark: count four payouts, then expect a risk approval before the move
  • Daily: watch the total paid out against $1,200, $3,000 or $6,000 for your size
  • Merit: the 30 calendar day assessment is the route, and a person makes the decision
  • Any line: moving one account to Live sends your other funded accounts dormant
