The Thor trade copier is the tool built into the Phoenix Trader Funding ecosystem that mirrors trades from one leader account into any number of follower accounts, automatically and in real time. A trade copier is software that detects a fill on one trading account and repeats it, same instrument, same direction, on every account linked to it, so a trader with several funded accounts places an order once instead of clicking it into each platform by hand.
Ten funded accounts sound like a lot of buying power until you try to actually use it. Entering the same trade five or ten times before the market moves is not realistic by hand, and a missed fill on account six is money left on the table for no reason other than typing speed. This guide covers what Thor actually does, whether copy trading is allowed on a Phoenix account, what Thor needs to run, which platforms it supports, and the account limits worth planning around before you build a copier group.
What a Trade Copier Actually Does
A trade copier connects a leader account, the account you actually trade, to one or more follower accounts. A leader account is the source: you place the order there, by hand or with your own strategy, and the copier watches for the fill. A follower account is a destination: it receives a matching order automatically, sized to a ratio you set, with no input from you beyond the original trade.
Nothing about the follower side is autonomous. The copier is not generating its own entries and it is not following a stranger's signal feed. You are still the one deciding what to trade and when. Thor's job is to take a decision you already made once and apply it everywhere it needs to go, and to keep every follower in sync if a partial fill or a dropped connection knocks one account out of line with the rest.
Is Copy Trading Allowed on a Phoenix Account?
Yes. Copy trading is allowed on every Phoenix account type, Classic, Spark and Merit, in the evaluation stage and once funded, and Thor is the copier the firm recommends for it. It sits in the same allowed column as scalping with no minimum hold time, Martingale and DCA position sizing, and Tier 1 news trading around events like FOMC, CPI and NFP.
What copy trading does not cover is cross-account hedging: opening opposing positions on two accounts so that one wins no matter what the market does. A copier that mirrors the same direction across a group of accounts is not hedging, it is the same trade repeated. Fully automated systems that generate their own entries, including HFT bots and expert advisors, stay off the table with or without a copier involved. Thor replicates trades a trader places; it does not decide what to trade.
How Thor Connects a Leader Account to Its Followers
Thor needs two pieces to run. The first is a leader account on dxFeed, the full market-data feed, since a leader has to see live prices to generate a trade in the first place. The second is one or more follower accounts on TFeed, the low-cost execution feed built for exactly this job. TFeed carries no independent market data of its own, so a TFeed follower account depends entirely on Thor to know what the leader account just did.
That division of labor is also why TFeed commissions run well below dxFeed. On the E-mini S&P (ES), TFeed runs $1.09 a side against $2.18 a side on dxFeed, and on the Micro E-mini (MES) it runs $0.36 against $0.71. A follower account costs less to trade precisely because it is not carrying the weight of its own data feed; Thor is doing that job on its behalf.
Saga, the AI trading journal in the ecosystem, is included free for every Phoenix Trader Funding customer and is required on any dxFeed account, which the Thor leader account will always be. There is no separate fee to add on top of running a leader account.
What You Need to Set Thor Up
- A leader account running on dxFeed, since TFeed cannot originate the market data Thor needs to copy from.
- One or more follower accounts on TFeed.
- A platform that supports TFeed to run the follower side: NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView through Tradovate, or Odin.
- Saga alongside the leader account, included at no extra cost.
Traders who already work on a platform available on both feeds, Atas, Quantower, Volumetrica, DeepChart or DeepDom, do not have to change how they place their own trades on the leader side. The copier sits underneath that workflow and handles the repetition.
How Many Platforms Thor Puts in Reach
Odin, Quantower and DeepCharts are the main platforms in the ecosystem. NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView become available through Thor's TFeed follower side, and moving to a Live Funded account on the Rithmic route through EdgeClear adds the full Rithmic-compatible platform list on top, including Sierra Chart, MultiCharts, Jigsaw, Bookmap and MotiveWave. Counted together, the real platform total a Thor setup can eventually reach runs well over 20, spanning free and paid charting tools built for very different trading styles.
Account Limits to Plan a Copier Group Around
Running a copier across every account sounds unlimited, but account caps apply to how many a trader can hold open at once, and the cap changes once an account is funded.
During the evaluation stage, there is no cap on the number of challenges a trader can run. Once an account reaches Pre-Funded status, the ceiling tightens: up to 3 accounts on dxFeed, or up to 5 on TFeed, with sub-limits inside that: up to 3 Spark accounts, up to 3 Classic Growth or Scale accounts, and up to 5 Classic Starter accounts. Spark exists only on TFeed, so every Spark follower counts against that 5-account TFeed ceiling alongside any other TFeed followers in the group.
Leader on dxFeed vs. Follower on TFeed
| Factor | dxFeed (leader) | TFeed (follower) |
|---|---|---|
| Market data | Full live data, this is where Thor reads its signal from | None included; runs entirely off the leader's fills via Thor |
| Commission, ES | $2.18 per side | $1.09 per side |
| Commission, MES | $0.71 per side | $0.36 per side |
| Spark accounts | Not available | The only feed Spark runs on |
| Saga | Required, included free | Not required |
Who Thor Fits
Thor earns its place once a trader is holding more than one funded account and wants to trade the group together instead of one account at a time. A single account has nothing to copy to, so a copier is an extra moving part with no job to do; it is worth setting up once a second account exists.
It also fits traders running enough volume to feel commissions. Routing size through cheaper TFeed followers while a single dxFeed leader carries the market data adds up across a high-frequency month, on top of the hours saved not re-entering the same order by hand across every account.
It does not fit a trader still refining a strategy. Copying an unproven entry across five accounts multiplies a mistake by five instead of catching it early. Prove an approach on one account first, then bring Thor in once there is a second account worth linking to it.
FAQ
Is copy trading allowed on a Phoenix account?
Yes. Copy trading is allowed on every Phoenix account type, Classic, Spark and Merit, during the evaluation and once funded, and Thor is the copier Phoenix recommends for it.
Do I need a separate leader account to run Thor?
Yes. Thor needs one account with real market data to act as the leader, which means an account on dxFeed. Follower accounts run on TFeed and carry no market data of their own, so they depend on the leader for every signal.
Does Saga cost extra to run alongside Thor?
No. Saga is included free for every Phoenix customer, and it is required on any dxFeed account, which your Thor leader account will be.
How many accounts can I run through Thor at once?
There is no cap during the evaluation stage. Once you are Pre-Funded, the limit is 3 accounts on dxFeed or 5 on TFeed, with sub limits inside that by account type.
Which trading platforms does Thor support?
Thor's TFeed side supports NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView through Tradovate and Odin. Add the platforms available on dxFeed and the Rithmic roster on the live route, and the real platform count runs well over 20.
Can I use Thor while I am still in the evaluation stage?
Yes. Copy trading with Thor is allowed during the challenge as well as once funded, and account limits are unlimited at the challenge stage since the caps only apply once an account is Pre-Funded.
The full rule set on account limits, feeds and the rest of the ecosystem is on the FAQ page, and account-by-account pricing for a leader or follower account is on the Classic accounts page.
