Phoenix Cup: official rules
Looking for quick answers? Read the Cup FAQ.
1. Organiser and sponsor
The Phoenix Cup (the "Cup") is organised by Phoenix Trader Funding SASU, 60 rue François Ier, 75008 Paris, France, RCS Paris 978 715 332 (the "Organiser"), through its Phoenix Labs division. The cash prizes are offered and paid by Phoenix Technologies SAS, Paris, RCS Paris 938 548 112, the maker of the Odin trading platform and the Thor Trade Copier (the "Sponsor"). The Organiser and the Sponsor are sister companies with the same owner and President.
2. What the Cup is
The Cup is a free, skill-based trading competition on simulated futures accounts. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or to win. No real money is traded, and results on a simulated account do not represent actual trading.
3. Dates
Entries open when the Cup is announced. Trading runs from the first CME session of Monday, November 2, 2026 to Monday, November 30, 2026 at 5:00 PM New York time. Entries close one hour before the end. All times are New York time.
4. Who can enter
- Any natural person aged 18 or older (or the age of majority in their country of residence, if higher) with a Phoenix account in good standing.
- One entry per person. A person may hold only one Cup account at a time.
- Officers, shareholders, employees and contractors of the Organiser, of the Sponsor or of a company either controls, and members of their households, may enter but cannot win a prize.
- Residents of a country or territory under comprehensive international sanctions, and persons on an EU or French sanctions list, cannot receive a prize. Residents of New York and Florida cannot receive a prize.
- The Cup is void where prohibited. A person whose local law forbids taking part or receiving a prize cannot win.
- A Phoenix account that is banned or suspended cannot enter.
5. How to enter
Sign in to Phoenix Labs and press Enter on the Cup page. Entering means accepting these rules. Before the start, the entry is registered and the account opens when the Cup begins.
6. The Cup account
| Starting balance | $50,000 (simulated, on TFeed) |
| Out at | $47,500: a static drawdown that never trails |
| Size | up to 1 mini or 10 micros at a time, in total |
| Hours | flat before each daily close: a position held over the close, the night or the weekend puts the account out |
| Target and daily limit | none |
| Platforms | Odin, Quantower and Thor, with the participant's TFeed login |
The size is the Cup's limit even where the platform would accept more: a trade above it is a breach of these rules.
7. The free reset and extra lives
Each participant may unlock one free reset by completing the steps shown on their Cup page (following Phoenix on X, joining the Phoenix Discord, posting about the Cup with their own Cup link, and, when available, quoting the Cup's post). The Organiser checks the posts on X and the Discord membership; one X account and one Discord account unlock the free reset for one participant only, and a post deleted before the free reset is used locks it again. A reset closes the current account with its positions and opens a new account at the starting balance; the numbers start again from zero. Resets close one hour before the end.
Each participant also has their own link on their Cup page. Each other person who enters the Cup through that link and trades on at least 3 trading days gives the participant one extra reset (an "extra life"), up to 3 per participant. Entries made by the participant themselves, or on their behalf, never count and are treated under section 10.
8. Ranking
- Participants are ranked by the balance of their Cup account, from their first closed trade. Accounts that are out rank below the accounts still in.
- The board is updated every few minutes and is indicative; the final standings are set after the end.
- The final balance is the account's balance at the end, less any trade closed after the end. A tie goes to the earlier entry.
9. Prizes
The Cup pays up to $10,000 in cash prizes, in three kinds.
Final standings.
| 1st | $4,000 |
| 2nd | $2,000 |
| 3rd | $1,000 |
| 4th to 10th | $200 each |
To take a place, a participant must, at the end: have traded on at least 5 trading days, have a balance above the starting balance, still be in, and not be disqualified. The eligible participants take the places in the order of the final standings.
Best week. The Cup is divided into 4 weeks, counted from its start (the last one runs to the end). Each week, $250 goes to the participant with the largest net gain on trades closed during that week, across all their Cup accounts, with trades on at least 2 trading days of that week. A tie goes to the earlier entry.
Most friends brought. $600 goes to the participant whose own link brought the most other participants who traded on at least 3 trading days (section 7). Several participants entering from one internet address count once at most. A tie goes to the participant who reached that number first.
A participant may win more than one prize. The week and friends prizes are confirmed at the end, after the same checks as the final standings (section 10), and a disqualified participant takes none. That prize goes to the next eligible participant.
For every participant who trades. Each participant who has traded on at least 3 trading days on their Cup account and is not disqualified receives discount codes for Phoenix Trader Funding accounts: . The codes are shown on the participant's Cup page and sent by email as soon as the participant reaches that number of days, with their end date. Each code applies only to its own accounts, under the terms of the Phoenix Trader Funding checkout, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
To collect a prize, a winner completes two steps on their Cup page: the identity verification with Phoenix Identity, and a public post on X of their result card, tagging @phoenixfunding, whose link they give on their Cup page. Prizes are paid in cash, in US dollars or the equivalent in the winner's currency, by the Sponsor, within 10 business days of the later of the two. A winner who does not complete both within 30 days of being notified forfeits the prize. Prizes are personal and cannot be transferred. Any tax due on a prize is the winner's responsibility. The post must also tag @thortradecopier and name Odin. It is a prize condition and is advertising for the Organiser and the Sponsor, and the post says so with #ad. A winner who cannot use X, or who chose "Trader" on the board, may instead authorise the Organiser to publish the card under their board name. Before payment, each winner states their country of tax residence, and the Sponsor may deduct any tax the law requires it to withhold. Prizes are paid by traceable transfer.
10. Fair play and disqualification
The Organiser reviews the leading accounts before any prize is awarded. The following lead to disqualification:
- more than one entry for one person, or entries coordinated between people;
- opposite positions with another participant or with the participant's own other accounts (hedging), or copying another participant's trades;
- trading above the Cup's size, or after the end;
- exploiting a price, data or platform error, or any practice the Organiser reasonably considers abusive;
- false information, or an identity that cannot be verified;
- entries made, or made to look like other people's, to earn extra lives.
A disqualified entry is removed from the standings and loses any prize. The Organiser's decision after review is final, without prejudice to the participant's legal rights.
11. Publicity
The board shows each participant's first name and the initial of their last name, or "Trader" with a number for a participant who chooses it on their Cup page. The Organiser and the Sponsor may announce the winners under the same name, with the flag of their country, on their websites, on X and on Discord.
12. Personal data
Personal data are processed by the Organiser to run the Cup and by Phoenix Identity to verify winners, as described in the privacy policy. Phoenix Technologies SAS, which pays the prizes, receives each winner's name, prize amount and payment details. It is a separate controller and uses them only to pay and keep legally required records.
13. Changes and suspension
If a technical failure, a data or platform outage, or any event beyond the Organiser's control affects the Cup, the Organiser may extend, suspend or end it, and will publish the change on this page. The prizes announced for a Cup that has started are not reduced.
14. Law and contact
These rules are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory protections of the participant's country of residence. Questions: support@phoenixtraderfunding.com.
